Litigation Support

The high level of building science and enclosure expertise at RDH inevitably leads to many requests for us to provide expert investigative reports and testimonies as part of a litigation support role.

Our combination of investigative and analysis tools, and specific building science technical training allows us to provide litigation support services at a distinctly advanced level. It is rare that others question our technical conclusions and therefore, our reports are often the key documents used in settlement discussions.

What sets us apart:
  • The respect that other consultants, lawyers, mediators, and judges have for RDH means that we are sometimes called upon to provide services directly to the court—to help them sort through some of the highly technical aspects of claims.
  • Advanced building science training means that we can explain the science of a failure when required, not just comment on what the code or drawings said should be built.
  • State-of-the-art visual graphic material helps to explain difficult technical matters to mediations or the court.

“We interviewed several engineering firms…The initial interview confirmed the personnel at RDH had a high level of training, experience and a highly qualified building envelope specialist certified to provide a Scott Schedule for legal proceedings.”

Regarding Ariel Levy, RDH Principal located in the Portland office:

“…one of my major contributions was having the good sense to get Ariel and his team aboard to help us come up with a creative solution to the problem… Over the last three or four years, I’ve come to trust and respect Ariel a good deal. “
