As part of our condition assessment and failure investigation work, it is common to undertake water penetration testing of installed windows, doors, and even wall assemblies. Test apparatus and procedures can be undertaken with standard protocols such as the ASTM E1105 standard, but it is also common to modify the test procedure to suit the particular problem that we are addressing.
Although independent testing agencies can conduct much of the same testing, we find that our knowledge of the building enclosure systems and details for each project allows us to quickly determine the source of any failures and provide quick feedback and resolution to effectively address any problems. In addition, as trial repairs are undertaken, the availability of our own test apparatus allows us to quickly verify the effectiveness of the repairs.
