- Constructed in 1989, Admiral Point uses a reinforced concrete frame structure. It is located in a dense urban area, adjacent to other high-rise residential buildings.
- In 2008, RDH was retained by the strata owners to provide engineering services with respect to the design and implementation of repairs to address widespread water ingress-related problems.
- RDH helped the owners to develop and define a building enclosure rehabilitation program. RDH provided replacement designs for the windows, main roof, doors, stucco cladding, patio doors, decks, and canopies. Aesthetic details were considered during design and the building was given a revitalized and contemporary look.
- The rehabilitation design made effective use of rainscreen technology for the new wall and window assemblies, and significantly improved details at interfaces between assemblies.
- RDH managed the tendering process and construction.
- The project was completed under budget.
- Upon completion, RDH provided an online maintenance manual to help the owners plan their financial expenditures over the long term and ensure the functional performance of building systems.
