RDH Begins Work on Window Energy Rating Procedures for Canada
"ER" is an energy efficiency metric that is utilized as part of the CSA A440.2-09 Standard entitled "Fenestration Energy Performance." The purpose of the ER is to facilitate the ranking of energy performance so that consumers can assess the relative energy efficiency of windows and doors. The formula is based on the balance between heat loss through conduction and air leakage, and solar heat gain through the window or door. The formula provides a simple one-number value ranging from 0 (poor performance) to about 50 (excellent performance).

Featured Project (USA) - Goldbelt Place
After investigating water ingress problems, RDH designed the building enclosure rehabilitation of this 30-year-old government building in Alaska.
Featured Project (Canada) - The 834
RDH was the building enclosure consultant for this new high-rise in downtown Victoria, BC.
Featured Research & Education Project - Best Practices for Window & Door Replacement in Wood-Frame Buildings
RDH was retained by the Homeowner Protection Office (HPO), BC Window and Door Manufacturers Association, BC Hydro, the City of Vancouver, and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) to develop guidelines for window and door replacement. It is the first comprehensive guideline on this topic in North America and will establish the benchmark for manufacturers and replacement contractors.
