The rehabilitation of a face seal wall assembly to an exterior insulation rainscreen wall assembly is illustrated. This new assembly is much more effective at controlling rain penetration. In addition, the assembly is much more tolerant of water that does penetrate past the cladding. The air space behind the stucco facilitates drainage and drying of moisture.
