RDH wins award for Fiberglass Thermal Spacer innovation
RDH was presented a 2011 'Sustainable Construction & Innovation' award by the Vancouver Regional Construction Assn for its work engineering and designing the Fiberglass Thermal Spacer.
The Fiberlass Thermal Spacer, available from Cascadia Windows Ltd., is a cladding support system for exterior insulated walls. It separates steel girts from the back-up wall and allows insulation to perform over 100% more efficiently than if traditional steel supports were used.
"It is nice to be recognized for this work," said Kevin Ganzert, RDH's Director of Construction. "It is a terrific product that yields real energy savings for building owners for the life of the building."
RDH received the award October 19 at the annual VRCA Awards of Excellence ceremony. The awards committee had received 280 nominations for awards in 15 categories.
